Joe Cole believes Chelsea will be ‘busy’ in the January transfer window and that much of the work has already been done by his former club to make additions.
Graham Potter is set to be given significant funds to invest in his side in the winter window, having arrived at the club just a fortnight after the close of the summer window.
Chelsea were the biggest spenders in world football last summer, spending around £280m on the likes of Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Nevertheless, the Blues lost the likes of Antonio Rudiger, Romelu Lukaku and Andreas Christensen, and there’s now significant doubts over the futures of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.
The Blues were well beaten by Arsenal on Sunday and the 1-0 scoreline didn’t do justice to the distance between the two sides.
Potter wants to strengthen at full-back following injuries to Reece James and Ben Chilwell, as well as in midfield.

And Cole believes that the break for the World Cup will give Chelsea the perfect chance to make signings, with the former Blues midfielder predicting a busy window.
‘I think the work would have been done,’ Cole told the Express.
‘There would have been processed but the clubs will go away for four weeks and they will be able to be meeting there’ll be talks of agents and if there is availability.
“We may see more business in this window because of that because it’s actually more time to actually think about them and put the deals in place.
‘Sometimes in January, things don’t happen because of just because simply because of time constraints.
‘We may actually see the club trying to get more business but it’s certainly something to watch for. It’s an unusual time.’
