Donald Trump announced today his plans to run for the 2024 American presidency to the dismay of celebrities who made their feelings known on Twitter.
The potential return of the former US President to office has ruffled some celebrity feathers and many have shared reactions to the news with their millions of followers.
Mr Trump caused ructions in the White House with his outrageous policies that resulted in him being the first and only US President to be impeached twice and acquitted a second time.
Through moves that abused the power of his position, he set about aggressively changing immigration policies, calling for a wall to be erected along the Mexico-United States border.
Mr Trump also signed an executive order banning people from six Muslim-majority countries from entering the USA.
The policy restricted people from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen from entering the country for 90 days and indefinitely denied entry to any Syrian refugees.

Reacting to Mr Trump’s announcement, actor Rob Reiner said: ‘There’s no other way to put this: Donald Trump is a complete and utter fool.
‘Not to mention a Career Criminal. Time to Indict and put the last nail into his Corrupt Coffin.’
Comedian David Baddiel poked fun at the previous leader’s grievances he claimed lost him a re-election to Joe Biden, writing: ‘Amazing that Donald Trump is standing for election again given that he has said many times that the electoral process is rigged against him.
‘I wonder when he changed his mind about that.’
Next to mount the opinion podium was musical legend Barbara Streisand with her comment: ‘Donald Trump continues to destroy the GOP from within.’
TikToker and activist Rosie O’Donnell retweeted a handful of negative reactions and posted her own views above news outlets’ links to the announcement.
Referencing Bloomberg.com, she wrote above an attachment: ‘Trump’s presidential announcement is a recipe for internecine warfare within the Republican Party, @TimOBrien says’.
Over a picture posted by POLITICO, the internet personality captioned her retweet: ‘Good luck u orange nazi #byeTRUMP [sic]’.

Rapper Ice T chimed in too when he tweeted: ‘S**t’s crazy….. And dude STILL hasn’t shown his Taxes… Wow! [sic]’
Echoing his thoughts, Tracie Thomas offered: ‘Call me crazy… but I think blatant lying should make you disqualified to be president.’
Acting icon, Bette Midler didn’t hold back in her expression claiming the news made her feel ‘sick’: ‘That’s #Trumpto you. He’s giving the same speech he gave in 2016.
‘After a two year pandemic, and a million American lives lost, the rest of us have moved on. He is ossified. May he rot.’
The backlash came after the former Apprentice television show host made his intentions to run again in 2024 clear, despite contesting the 2020 election results and supposedly inspiring a deadly riot at the Capitol, according to NPR.
The outlet posted a link to Donald’s official filing and quoted the businessman as saying: ‘I am announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,’ at his Mar-a-Lago club and home in Palm Beach, Florida.
