BAE Systems is developing undersea microphones to enhance military protection for the UK’s critical undersea cables, which carry over 90% of the nation’s internet traffic and are valued at £65 billion. The technology aims to detect threats and provide alerts about potential sabotage.
The UK government plans to recruit 500 fraud specialists in a £500 million initiative targeting money laundering at Post Offices and High Street shops. Officials highlighted these locations as key conduits for illicit cash, notably linked to organised crime and hostile state actors, particularly in Greater Manchester and the West Midlands.

James Bulger’s evil killer Jon Venables will stay in prison after his bid for parole was rejected.
Venebles faced an appeal to determine if he could be released from jail after he was imprisoned for possessing images of child abuse.
But the Parole Board rejected his bid, with the panel ruling that it was ‘not satisfied that release at this point would be safe for the protection of the public’.
Now 41, Venebles and pal Robert Thompson shocked the nation in 1993 when they adbucted, tortured and murdered two-year-old James when they were just ten years old.
