Lewis Capaldi had a jolly good time firing up an unlikely festive feud with Michael Bublé – but don’t worry, it’s not a Claus for concern.
The cheeky singer took aim after the crooner’s holiday classic It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas sleighed his new single, Pointless, in the charts.
‘No-one told me that it was probably a bad idea to release a song at Christmas, a song that has no reference to Christmas,’ said Lewis, 26, who co-wrote the tune with Ed Sheeran.
‘We’re really being hammered in the charts by Christmas songs.
‘Not that it matters, but you know, these record labels want some money.
‘So, if anyone sees Michael Bublé, you let him know I’m looking for him. I’ve got a gripe to grind with Mr Bublé!’

The Scot then performed a spot-on impression of the 47-year-old Canadian.
Lew is No.1 on the Big Top 40, which takes account of radio airplay, but only No.20 on the Official Singles Chart, behind Bublé at No.10 and Mariah Carey at No.1.
Meanwhile, Lew apologised for turning the air blue while filming Radio 2 In Concert – available on BBC iPlayer from Thursday at 7pm.
‘I’ve been told not to swear, so watch me struggle through that for the next hour or so,’ he warned the crowd at Broadcast House, before accidentally dropping a few expletives.

‘I’m sorry for coming here with unacceptable language. What time is it? It’s not even past the watershed,’ he quipped. ‘I’m disgusted with myself.’ More comedy gold was delivered when Lewis, whose bloopers will be cut from the final edit, joked with a fan called Victoria who interrupted his gig for a selfie.
‘Thank you for ruining the flow of the show,’ he told her.
When the woman replied, ‘My husband’s not going to be happy [with me having a photo],’ Lewis replied: ‘Listen, don’t worry about your husband, I can be discreet.’
Lewis performed at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard at the O2 in London this weekend. He’s also joined the Reading and Leeds festivals line-up next summer.
