BTS star Jungkook has teased fans with what’s to come as he embarks on his solo career.
Chatting to Vick Hope on The One Show on Friday (July 21), the K-pop favourite, 25, said it was ‘good to be back in the UK’ as he returned for the first time since playing in London in 2019.
He was there to promote his single Seven and gave an energetic performance to hundreds of fans who queued up to catch a glimpse of him – and screamed after each word came out of his mouth.
Featuring US rapper Latto, the track – released on July 14 – has already been very warmly received, clocking up a major 100million streams on Spotify alone.
It marks Jungkook’s debut solo single away from the band, which formed in 2010 and also consists of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, and V.
‘I have been waiting to perform Seven for my fans,’ Jungkook said.

When asked what fans can ‘expect’ from him as a solo artist, the singer replied: ‘A whole new Jungkook.
‘I wanna try many different styles with my own voice. Please look forward to what comes next.’
He went on to talk about his first solo single, describing it as a ‘fun summer song’ with a ‘UK garage sound’.
‘I love the melody and the vibe of the song. I hope many people enjoy it as much as I do.’
Indeed, the crowd went wild for his first-ever live solo TV performance, which saw the South Korean pop star don a cool pair of leather trousers and bust out all his slickest moves.
Reacting to the epic performance, Twitter lost their minds and flooded The One Show’s replies, with Jungkook’s name quickly trending.

‘“A whole new Jungkook” and he was right because the energy that is radiating from this performance is insane’, one person wrote.
‘omg the way he looked at armys, he looked so happy’, added another fan.
‘Whewww look at my baby shining so much’, tweeted another, bursting with pride.
Junkook – who performed in Qatar at the World Cup earlier this year – and his bandmates are currently all pursuing solo projects, with J-Hope becoming the first to announce an album last June.
It came as BTS announced a hiatus, of sorts, but assured fans they aren’t splitting up.

A statement from their agency HYBE last year: ‘The group will remain active as a team while taking an individual journey to further achieve personal growth.
‘[They] will allow themselves to express their individuality through the release of solo albums and collaborations with other artists.’
The One Show airs on BBC One and iPlayer weekdays at 7pm.
