Bruno Fernandes admits Alejandro Garnachoās attitude problem hindered his start of the season for Manchester United.
Garnacho scored his first senior goal for United on Thursday evening as Erik ten Hagās side sealed a 1-0 win over Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
The 18-year-old has barely featured for United this season, with Ten Hag revealing last week that he was unhappy with the wingerās attitude during the teamās pre-season preparations.
Fernandes has now backed up Ten Hagās assessment of Garnachoās problems inside Unitedās dressing room and believes the midfielder did not deserve to start matches until he showed signs of improvement.
āHe was good but he knows we expect a lot from him,ā Fernandes told BT Sport after Unitedās win over Real Sociedad.
āObviously heās still really young, heās doing really well.

āAt the beginning of the season he was not at his best. In the [pre-season] tour he didnāt have the best attitude that he should have, and thatās why he didnāt get his chances until now.
āHeās getting his chances because heās training better, heās got a different attitude and heās deserving his chances.ā

Meanwhile, Paul Scholes has praised Garnachoās recent performances and believes the winger has shown his United teammates that his attitude is changing.
āHe said that was pre-season so he was obviously a little bit big for his boots, maybe a little bit above his station,ā said Scholes.
āI think he did go with Argentina, playing with Messi, maybe he thought heās coming back, āthis is me, Iām part of this teamā.
āBut heās a young lad, heās going to learn, obviously his attitude has changed and weāre seeing the benefits of that.
āHe looks a really top class young player, still a long way to go, heās 18 years of age, he was really good last week in the home game and scored a really good goal tonight, so there was clearly an attitude problem but it seems like heās got over it.ā
