Britain’s Got Talent magician Colin Cloud has fired back at viewers who think they figure out how he did his trick.
The mentalist was part of Sunday’s spin-off show The Ultimate Magician, which had Stephen Mulhern at the helm as 10 magicians from Got Talent competitions around the world battled for a £50,000 prize.
The live audience picked Eric Chien as the champion, but Colin left the audiences and judges in awe with his act.
The 35-year-old magician, who appeared on BGT in 2012 before reaching the finals of America’s Got Talent five years later, was the first to take to the stage in front of the panel, which saw David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden joined by Penn Jillette.
His routine saw him pick members of the audience to think about words and celebrities, and Colin was able to tell them what they were imagining.
During the act, he wrote letters on a blackboard and rearranged them to spell out the name of Oti Mabuse.

After a member of the audience revealed they were thinking about the former Strictly star in a blue scarf, Colin opened a box revealing someone wearing exactly that, as well as a mask of Oti’s face.
In a brilliant twist, the mystery person took off their mask to reveal Oti herself – but despite the amazing trick, some viewers thought they’d figured things out and wondered if the audience members were actually in on the act.

After one Twitter user claimed ‘all 3 people in the audience are working with him’, Colin replied with a laughing emoji and added: ‘You think we have the budget for that … no actors!’
A different viewer suggested it was all ‘set up’, and he responded: ‘Nope I am s*** hot’.
He later added: ‘ans question if magic is real. I’ll save them some time. No… but also, no actors or stooges used. Only other solution… I’m s*** hot.’
Not everyone was quite so cynical, with others heaping praise on his performance.
‘What an amazing trick from @Colin_Cloud . An absolutely stunning way to open #BGT #UltimateMagician,’ one person tweeted, and another added: ‘Colin has left me gobsmacked #BGT.’
Britain’s Got Talent: The Ultimate Magician is available to stream on ITVX.
