A couple had their first kiss, and the bride’s first ever, at the altar on their wedding day.
Rhalyn Murphy and Micah Murphy waited until they tied the knot to share even a kiss because Rhalyn claims that one day, when she was praying while at a ministry school in Alabama, US, aged 17, God asked her to ‘save’ her first kiss for her wedding day.
The worship director, now 21, first met Micah on social media last April.
They embarked on a long-distance relationship that went from strength to strength, with Micah proposing in December and the pair trying the knot this June.
Devout Christian Rhalyn said that Micah, 25, was ‘totally on board’ with the idea of the two of them not even so much as kissing until they said ‘I do’, and assured her that she’d be ‘worth the wait’.
Rhalyn, of Virginia beach, Virginia, US, said: ‘The first kiss was amazing. It was perfect, I couldn’t have pictured it going any better.

‘But then the more [we kissed] when we were taking pictures and stuff, it wasn’t that it was weird, it just felt unnatural because I had never kissed anyone before.
‘So it was just so new to me and it was just fun, it was everything I ever dreamed it would be.’
Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technician Micah said that saving their first ever kiss for their wedding was ‘extremely precious and sentimental’, but admitted it was hard to resist when they’d say goodbye at the airport after visits.
Rhalyn and Micah’s parents are both pastors so they’ve known each other for 15 years, but she and her now-husband only met first time last April.
They lived a 13-hour drive away from each other and only met for the first time in person later that following June.
The couple remained in a long-distance relationship right up until four days before they wed.

Rhalyn said: ‘Then things got a little bit more serious, and he wanted to plan a trip to come here because we were long distance.
‘He was my first boyfriend but I had talked to other guys before and I never felt like it should go any further.
‘Honestly, through prayer, peace [was when I knew Micah was the one] and they say “when you know, you know” – it was just that kind of situation.
‘We both knew we wanted this. He’s 25 and I’m 21, but he was like “I know I’m ready to settle down and get married”, and I always felt like I was going to get married young.
‘Everything was just lining up and our parents were in agreement and everyone around us was like “this is right” and we just did it, and we did it quickly.’
Rhalyn grew up in a religious environment, with her parents opening the church she attends a year before she was born.
She recalled: ‘I was praying one day and felt that the Lord just asked me if I was willing [to save my first kiss for wedding day].
‘I just felt like that’s what I was supposed to do, and so I said yes to the Lord and that was three years before I met Micah.’

‘When I met him it was obviously something that I still wanted to do, and it just came up in natural conversation in the beginning of our talking relationship.
‘It wasn’t in the context of “this is going to be with you” it was like “this is what I’m going to do no matter who it’s with”.
‘When he and I got more serious it was obviously like “ok, this is going to be with each other” and he was totally on board.
‘He said “if this is what you feel called to do then it’s what I’m going to do with you”.
‘He just told me “you’re worth the wait, let’s do it”.
‘It’s almost like a Disney fairytale, that’s how I knew he was different too.’
After the two got engaged, Rhalyn wanted to share the story of her vow on social media.

Rhalyn said: ‘I did a post about what the Lord had asked me to do and how Micah and I’s conversation went.
‘Girls from all over the world reached out to me about how it had impacted them.
‘They said I just helped them realise that they can live differently and they don’t have to compromise and fall into what popular culture says that they have to do.’
