A body has been found in the Malaysian jungle search for missing London teen Nora Quoirin.
The 15-year-old with special needs disappeared from her resort room on the 4 August. The Lucie Blackman Trust has said the body has not been identified but was “likely” to be Nora. Malaysia’s deputy police chief said the body of a white female found “resembles Nora.”
A post-mortem examination will be carried out soon.
The area where the body was found has been sealed off and is less than a kilometre from Nora’s resort.
“A man phoned the police hotline at 1.15pm to say he had found a body by the waterfall,” Police said.
Her family are travelling to the hospital to identify the body.
Malaysian authorities have been treating the teenager’s disappearance as a missing person case. But her family have said they believe Nora may have been abducted.
On Monday the family offered a £10,000 (50,000 Malaysian ringgit) reward to help find her.
Over 350 people joined the search in the dense jungle for Nora.
