Breaking – Arrests made in Raheem Sterling home break-in
Two men have been arrested in connection with the break-in at the home of England footballer Raheem Sterling – who left the Qatar World Cup to return home to be with his family.
Surrey cops say they are now investigating a second burglary in Oxshott, where Raheem Sterling lives.
The police are looking into whether there were links between the two break-ins.
In a statement, police confirm two men were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary on 6 December in the Oxshott area.
The pair remain in custody.
Sterling return to the UK after the break-in and is said to have been shaken by the news and concerned about the wellbeing of his children.
It is believed Sterling’s partner returned home to find that a break-in had happened.
It is also thought that jewellery worth £300,000 was among the items stolen.
It’s not clear if Raheem Sterling will return to Qatar or play a role in Saturday’s quarter-final game against France.
