Bread, BLM and Carole Baskin among UK’s most googled of 2020
Much like the US, the top google searches UK 2020 is “coronavirus“. As the pandemic swept the world, Brits were googling “How to make a facemask?” “When will gyms reopen?” as they prepared for months in lockdown. Wanting to know the coronavirus symptoms day by day, “Coronavirus symptoms” and “Coronavirus update” were in the top five.
How to make bread step by step
Back in March, data shows Britain was determined to bake. “How to make bread?” was one of the most common google searches.
2020 was also the year when Black Lives Matter gained international support, and Black Lives Matter news dominated media and many people around the world attended a black lives matter protest, tweeted support and pledged to tackle racism.
Kobe Bryant death, Caroline Flack death
This year saw many tragic celebrity deaths. Back in January, NBA legend Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash, along with eight other people – one of which was his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant. In February, Love Island TV presenter Caroline Flack tragically ended her own life. Both Kobe and Caroline were in the UK’s top searches for 2020.
