Boy George has asserted there is no bad blood between himself and fellow I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! co-star Matt Hancock and maintains he treated him with ‘absolute respect’.
The Culture Club singer became the fourth campmate to be eliminated from the ITV series, following Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver, TV presenter Scarlette Douglas, and Loose Women’s Charlene White.
It was no secret that George struggled when Hancock arrived in the jungle as a latecomer alongside comedian Seann Walsh and he revealed he was close to quitting after his mum was hospitalised during the pandemic.
More recently, he confronted Hancock and admitted to him face-to-face that he was finding it difficult to separate him as a human being and a politician.
‘That’s not your problem, that’s my problem. I apologise because I was really sl**ging you off a minute ago,’ he said.

But it seems as though all is well between the pair.
Hitting back at a fan who claimed George ‘bullied’ Hancock, the singer replied: ‘I think @MattHancock will say otherwise and many will have Ostrich Egg on their faces.
‘I treated him with absolute respect. I said what I needed to say and I made some fun digs but there was zero awkwardness. He appreciated my directness.’
In another tweet, he said: ‘Not everything is broadcast! I said plenty but in the end I did not want to bully Matt. He will not complain about me because I behaved like an adult.

‘There is zero issue between us. That might disappoint some but I have no regrets about anything. I’m not five years old! :).’
Sharing a picture from inside an airplane, George added: ‘There was lot’s of sly bitching about @MattHancock but I told him to stand up for himself and par boil the potatoes to make chips!
‘I was also the driving force behind the Ostrich omlette. Lol!’

After being eliminated during Tuesday’s episode, George reflected on Hancock’s participation on the show with Ant and Dec.
‘Having Matt in here was really challenging for a lot of reasons…,’ he said.
‘By the way, he’s just a person. In here he’s just a person, he mucked in, he was really, really doing a lot to help everyone, so I can’t judge him on that.’
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1.
