The Daily Express leads on the story that Vladimir Putin allegedly threatened to kill Boris Johnson during a phone call after he visited Kyiv shortly before war broke out in Ukraine last February. The paper reports the Russian president told the then PM “with a missile it would only take a minute”.

The interview with the BBC in which Johnson claimed that, following a trip he made to Ukrainian capital Kyiv shortly before the Russian invasion last February, Vladimir Putin threatened to assassinate him. He said the pair discussed the West’s likely response to any invasion, including the threat of sanctions. 

The front page also reports on Nadhim Zahawu’s sacking and asks if he can remain on as an MP.
