Billie Eilish expressed her grief after her dog Pepper died aged 15-years-old on Sunday evening.
The 21-year-old singer shared the sad news with her Instagram followers and admitted she was struggling to come to terms with the death of her pet.
Alongside a gallery of images that showed the pup with Billie and her family across the many years they spent together, she penned a heartfelt message.
She revealed the pooch was half way to 30 when she died and wrote: ‘pepper. my life long best friend. i will see you again someday sweet girl. you made it 15 years you f***ing beast. :’) i love you. rest easy mama, i’ll miss you forever. this is a really hard day [sic].’
Fans flocked to the comments to send their condolences to the star as she dealt with her pain and heartbreak.
One wrote underneath the post: ‘im so so sorry, billie, my heart’s just broken. rest in peace, sweet girl. we’ll miss you. [sic].’

Another tried to offer some comfort when they said: ‘I’m so sorry. Sending you so much love. I know how hard it is to lose them but I do remind myself they’ll be watching over me.’
‘I’m so so sorry for your loss sending you love and also to your little angel [sic],’ was a separate social media user’s response to Billie’s latest post online.
She shared the same collection of pictures to her Instagram story and added the words: ‘Goodbye my angel’, ‘a girl’s best friend’ and ‘I’ll see you again’, across a selection of the images.
The singer’s brother and musical partner Finneas, 25, also posted a tribute to their family pet on his own Instagram story that read: ‘Sweet Pepper our dog has, at the ripe old age of 15, transcended her mortal form.
‘A good, good dog who gave our family so much love and was loved by us all in equal measure.’

He added his words above Billie’s original post that he had re-shared to his personal social media account.
The tragic news came after Billie released her highly anticipated music video for her latest song that appeared on the Barbie movie soundtrack.
She showcased a blonde retro look in the new footage that illustrated her emotional ballad and donned a yellow 1950s-style dress along with a high-ponytail hairstyle for the self-directed video of What Was I Made For?.

Ahead of the release, she explained the song ‘means so much to me and I hope it will mean just as much to you’.
The singer is among a plethora of top talents who all featured on the soundtrack for the highly-anticipated Barbie movie, which starred Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
