Faye Clarke is leading the way on Below Deck Adventure (Picture: Bravo)
Below Deck Adventure chief stewardess Faye Clarke has clarified Oriana Schneps’ position on board, after sparking confusion with her ranking.
Throughout all the Below Deck franchises, the interior crew typically consists of a chief stew who leads a second stew and a third stew through their daily duties.
However, the newbie switched things up and decided to scrap the rankings for her team, placing Oriana and Kasie Faddah on the same level.
This caused confusion with Oriana, who claimed that she had been contracted in the position of a second, and so wanted two stripes on her shoulder epaulets rather than one, which signifies a more junior yachtie.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Faye shed light on whether this was true, and why she mixed things up.
When asked if her co-star was actually hired in a higher role, she replied: ‘Yeah, she was. Like I said, I don’t care what you’re contracted as, I just want to get the job done.

‘The fact that I hadn’t seen her work, this is not like a normal environment – they get on the boat, they start work. I don’t have time to find anyone or analyze anyone.
‘It just so happened that the first day, the first charter, she went down sick. I did need my second stew, so it’s like, point proven.
‘She was still on a second salary, so she shouldn’t really be moaning.’
Tensions reached boiling point when bosun Lewis Lupton ordered her second stew epaulets behind Faye’s back, leading to an awkward encounter between the pair.
Reflecting on the series, she insisted that Oriana had never pulled her aside to ask for her correct uniform.
‘I clarified to her what the situation was,’ she told us. ‘She never once came to me, sat me down and said, “Look Faye, I am contracted as a second stew. I want my two-stripe epaulets.” She never came and had that conversation with me.

‘So, I just cracked on as I said I was going to in all my stew meetings. I think maybe it was blown out of proportion a little bit.’
Despite the drama, the pair managed to build up a friendship on board and even went on holiday together after filming ended, joined by Kasie and chef Jess Condy.
‘I do love her, she’s very supportive,’ Faye added. ‘She’s very helpful if you’ve ever got a problem.’
Below Deck Adventure airs on Tuesday at 9pm ET on Bravo in the US and is available to stream on hayu in the UK the same day.
