BBC bosses have reportedly set their sights on Sophie Ellis-Bexter to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest next year.
The long-running competition, which was held in Liverpool, took place last week and was hosted by the likes of Graham Norton and Ted Lasso actress Hannah Waddingham.
After a night of jaw-dropping and unforgettable performances, particularly from host Mel Giedroyc and her milk-churning, Sweden’s entry Loreen was crowned champion for the second time, having first won the Eurovision 11 years ago.
Sophie, 44,, has been a household name since bursting onto the scene with massive hits Murder On The Dance Floor and Groovejet, both released in 2001.
And it looks like she could be the frontrunner to fly the UK flag in 2024.
A source shared: At the moment there is only one artist on the BBC’s list for Eurovision 2024, and they don’t intend to add to it.’

After Sam Ryder’s incredible result in the 2022 competition, Mae’s track I Wrote A Song did not perform as well, with the UK coming second last, while Sweden’s Loreen won for a second time with Tattoo.
Fans sent major support to the star following the results, and Mae spoke out giving love and congratulations to every country that took part in the 2023 contest.
