Bayern Munich have sacked their CEO and club legend Oliver Kahn just an hour after pipping Borussia Dortmund to the Bundesliga title in thrilling fashion.
Kahn has since revealed that he was ‘forbidden’ from attending the match against Koln on Saturday where the German giants won their 11th consecutive league title.
Going into the final day, Bayern needed to win and have their rivals slip up, and for much of the afternoon everything was going their way with Thomas Tuchel’s side taking an early lead while Dortmund went 2-0 behind to Mainz inside 24 minutes with Sebastian Haller also seeing a penalty saved.
But Koln levelled at Munich with a late penalty to put the title back in Dortmund’s hands, only for Jamal Musiala to score an 89th minute winner.
And despite Dortmund equalising in the 96th minute, that Musiala goal proved to be enough for Bayern to win the Bundesliga on goal difference.
But despite the victory, Bayern have shown no mercy and dismissed Kahn and fellow board member Hasan Salihamidžić after a topsy turvy season which included the shocking and controversial decision to sack manager Julian Nagelsmann in March.
A club statement read: ‘The decision to part with Oliver Kahn was anything but easy for the supervisory board. Nevertheless, due to the overall development, we have come to the decision to make a new appointment at the top of the executive board.

‘We would like to thank Oliver Kahn for his commitment, his ideas and for everything we have achieved together. He will always remain a great figure at FC Bayern. We wish him all the best for his future.’
Former goalkeeper Kahn captained Bayern from 1994 to 2008 and shockingly revealed that the club had prevented him from joining in with the celebrations at the Allianz Arena.
‘Unbelievable! A big compliment and congratulations guys! I always told you so!’ he posted on Twitter.

‘I would like to celebrate with you, but unfortunately I can’t be with you today because the club has forbidden me.
