BAFTAs 2022 – Kristen Stewart’s portrayal of Princess Diana and Olivia Coleman not nominated
Prince William gets to avoid an awkward encounter with Kirsten Stewart at this year’s BAFTAs after the American actress failed to be nominated for her role as his mother – Princess Diana in the movie Spencer. Despite being well-received by film critics, Spencer failed to make an impact at box office and has so far failed to receive nominations for the SAG awards and now the BAFTAs.
Multi-award winning British actress Olivia Colman was also notably absent from the list with her starring role in The Lost Daughter.
But one person who is nominated for Best Actress is Lady Gaga for her portrayal as Patrizia Reggiani in Ridley Scott’s House Of Gucci. Gaga called it “an absolute dream come true” to be nominated for her second leading actress Bafta award.
The pop star was given the nod alongside Joanna Scanlan, Emilia Jones, Renate Reinsve, Tessa Thompson and musician Alana Haim all of whom are first-time nominees in the top female category.
