Backstreet Boys star leads tributes to Aaron Carter
Nick Carter, best known for being a Backstreet Boys singer, has led tributes to his younger brother and fellow entertainer Aaron Carter.
Nick, 42 posted on Instagram saying the pair had a “complicated relationship” but his love had “never faded” for Aaron, who died on Saturday at the age of 34.
Nick’s band dedicated a song to the younger Carter during a concert in London on Sunday.
Aaron was found dead at his home in California. No cause of death has been established yet, although US media reports say he drowned in the bathtub.
Who was Aaron Carter?
Aaron Carter was a 90s child star. He started in the music industry at the age of 7 and went on to sell millions of albums through the late 1990s.
During the 90sand early aughts, he was one of the biggest teen idols – who famously dated Hillary Duff and Lindsay Lohan.
He is best known for the songs I Want Candy and That’s How I Beat Shaq.
Carter never managed to take his success into his adult years, and his most poplar work remains from his pre-teen era. His struggles with mental health and addiction were well documented.
