I’m A Celebrity’s Babatunde Aléshé revealed that he’s ‘still cool’ with Matt Hancock following the politician’s controversial stint on the ITV series.
The former health secretary, 44, sparked intense backlash after appearing on the annual reality programme last year – which returned to Australia after two years.
The show was hit with thousands of Ofcom complaints, and some of Hancock’s fellow campmates didn’t waste any time grilling his stint as MP which involved him kissing and embracing aide Gina Coladangelo in his office.
During Tuesday’s This Morning, comedian Babatunde, 36, shared that he had ‘great conversations’ with the politician despite the rising tensions at the time.
‘I had some great conversations with him, some real deep conversations,’ he told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
‘We spoke even more about that situation, and to be honest I can just say for me, he was very very open, very honest and we’re still cool to this day.’

Despite the backlash, Hancock still finished in third place, beating the likes of Boy George and Loose Women’s Charlene White.
England footballer Jill Scott was eventually crowned Queen of The Jungle.
The 44-year-old’s other TV work has so far included an appearance on Channel 4’s Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, for which he earned £45k for taking part.
In January, Hancock faced further backlash after it was revealed he donated £10k from his £320k I’m A Celeb fee.
Ahead of taking part on the show, it was said that Hancock would be supporting St Nicholas Hospice Care with his pay cheque, a charity he raised almost £8,000 for during 2021’s London Marathon.

During his early arrival into the jungle, comedian Babatunde, 36, asked Hancock about his love life following the infamous cheating scandal which led to his resignation.
Speaking to Aleshe, the politician admitted he’s still with Gina despite the consequences of his actions being ‘really tough’.
Hancock said: ‘I messed up and I fessed up. I resigned and it’s no excuse, but I fell in love, right? That also had a lot of other consequences obviously.’
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
