Daily Mirror – Autumn Statement: Do they take us for fools?
“Do they take us all for fools?” the Daily Mirror writes, as it says millions of people will be worse off despite Jeremy Hunt cutting national insurance. The paper says the Autumn Statement is less about fizz and more about “swizz”.
It points to economic growth forecasts that have been halved and predictions that inflation will fall more slowly than previously expected.
The front page also says ‘more austerity to fund election bribes’ – the paper, like others, speculates on a snap general election next spring.
