Nations League – Tuesday 5 December 2023 fixtures England play their final Nations League game tonight – away at Scotland. It’s a must-win for the Lionesses, and even if they do win, it still might not be enough to book Team GB’s sport at the Paris Olympics in 2024. England came back from 2-0 down at Wembley against the Netherlands, winning the game 3-2. But despite the remarkable turnaround it still wasn’t enough to secure the top spot. WCL: Nine teams to qualify directly for new format Champions League 2025-26 The news yesterday that the much-welcomed format change to the Women’s Champions League (WCL) from the 2025-26 season, means nine teams will qualify directly. One of the big criticisms of the current format is that only four teams qualify directly for a 16-team group stage. The new format will see the tournament switch to an 18-team league – including the champions of the six top-ranked national associations. It means the winners of the Women’s Super League (WSL) currently ranked fourth, will directly qualify. The runners-up of the two…
Erik ten Hag is under huge pressure. (Photo by James Gill – Danehouse/Getty Images)
Erik ten Hag has lost the faith of large swathes of the Manchester United dressing room following a string of ‘concerning’ signings.
The Dutchman is under huge pressure following United’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday, which followed a 3-3 draw with Galatasaray three days earlier.
After an impressive debut campaign last year, United have started the season horribly and have already lost ten matches in all competitions.
The Red Devils take on Chelsea at Old Trafford on Wednesday, and anything but a win could prove fatal for the under-pressure Dutchman.
But it may already be too late for Ten Hag, with the Manchester Evening News reporting that he’s lost the faith of parts of the dressing room as well as the backroom staff.

As well as doubts over his man-management and tactics, the biggest complaint is over the quality of Ten Hag’s signings.
Ten Hag spent £85m on Antony, who he worked with at Ajax. The Brazilian hasn’t scored or assisted this term.
Hojlund is yet to net a Premier League goal (Photo by Maja Hitij/Getty Images)
In January, Wout Weghorst was signed as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo but managed just two goals in 28 appearances.
The MEN says there have been raised eyebrows at the signing of Mason Mount, who also hasn’t scored or assisted this term.
Perhaps the most surprising criticism is the signing of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.
United spent £72m on the Dane, and though he’s yet to score in the Premier League, he’s netted five times in the Champions League.
