Footballer Kiernan Hughes-Mason left toddler with brain damage after violent assault A former EFL footballer has been found guilty of child cruelty and grievous bodily harm after inflicting life-changing brain injuries on a toddler. Kiernan Hughes-Mason left the two-year-old girl requiring round-the-clock care as a consequence of an attack that took place in Westcliff-on-Sea in Essex in January 2020. During the case the prosecution barrister referred to one doctor’s assessment of the child’s injuries as comparable to ‘a high-speed road traffic accident’ or ‘a fall from a substantial height of several storeys’. The injuries were so severe that the child…

Felix’s plaque was covered with litter – and an…
I have an audiobook habit. Not in the sense that I listen to lots of audiobooks. No, I listen to exactly seven audiobooks. Very occasionally if I’ve had too much of a session in that world, I branch out into a well-known murder mystery series, but whatever happens I always come back to the originals. I’ll chip in at the beginning or end of a book and then skip the bits that don’t fit (the Cho Chang kissing scene for instance – it makes me cringe). I’ll very rarely go through the whole series from start to finish but pick…
Chelsea are looking to put a turbulent week to one side and get their Premier League season up and running against Wolves this weekend. The Blues fell to a 2-0 defeat to champions Manchester City on Sunday afternoon but it has been incoming and outgoing transfer business that has dominated the headlines since. Pedro Neto came off the bench after an hour against City to make his bow for the Blues and…
Kylian Mbappé to take legal action against PSG over unpaid salary It’s fair to say, Kylian Mbappé’s time at PSG wasn’t an easy one. If the speculation is true, he had wanted to leave for some time. There were rumours that the French superstar had been unhappy for some time, and when it was finally announced he would be leaving his club of 7 years – he notably thanked everyone but the club’s directors or owners. And now it seems the dispute has taken a new turn, with the now Real Madrid star taking legal action against his former club,…

The German ended his seven-year stay at the Etihad in 2023 in order to sign for Barcelona on a free transfer. The 33-year-old excelled at the Nou Camp, providing 14 assists and scoring five goals in all competitions last season. He played over 60% of matches, which triggered a clause in his deal for an extra two years in Spain. But Barcelona were keen to offload Gundogan following the signing of Dani Olmo and…

Richardson was born in Maidstone, England and moved to Australia at the age…
Kylian Mbappe endures miserable Real Madrid debut Kylian Mbappe endured a poor La Liga debut with a lacklustre 1-1 away draw at RCD Mallorca on Sunday. Mbappe failed to have an impact, looked isolated at times and is clearly still trying to build up chemistry with his teammates after he joined the club this summer. His best moments came from the left wing – and he made some interesting runs – but never really got a chance to make something happen. Mbappe was playing his first Spanish top-flight match for Real Madrid and was making his second appearance after scoring…
