Fury Wilder 3  – verbal agreement could see fight as early as July 24 Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder have verbally committed to a third fight, ESPN reported, days after an arbitration ruling halted the highly-anticipated fight between Fury and fellow Brit Anthony Joshua. The ruling states Fury must face Wilder before 15 September. Black Fungus India – emergency measures ordered amid covid-19 crisis Across India, states have ordered emergency measures to counter a rise in the rare deadly “black fungus” infection among Covid-19 sufferers.  TRT World says two new states declared epidemics of Mucormycosis. Meanwhile, New Dehli and other big cities have opened special wards to treats ‘thousands of cases’ of the infection – known commonly as Black Fungus, according to TRT World.  India usually has less than 20 cases a year, but Black Fungus has become a ‘new threat’ from India’s coronavirus wave that has killed 120,000 people in six weeks,

Joe Biden signs US anti-Asian hate crimes law President Joe Biden has signed anti-hate crime legislation directing federal law enforcement to address a rise in violent attacks against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders during the pandemic.  “There are simple core values and beliefs that should bring us together as Americans. One of them is standing together against hate, against racism,” Biden said.  Aljazeera says the enforcement of anti-hate crime laws, will make reporting easier for victims of all types of hate crimes and provide training for local and state officials.

EU create Covid-19 passes for summer travel, boosting tourism EU citizens can start to prepare for summer holidays in the bloc’s 27 nations with no fears about having to quarantine, says Euronews. Israel has approved a unilateral ceasefire to put an end to an 11-day military offensive operation in the Gaza Strip, which was confirmed by a Hamas official and Israeli media. A Hamas official told Reuters that Hamas and Israel will enter a “mutual and simultaneous” truce from 2 am on Friday (11 pm GMT Thursday). US probes Capitol attack  The US House of Representatives has approved the creation of an independent commission. The commission will be similar to the one that investigated the 2001 al-Qaida terrorist attacks in the United States.  The new commission will investigate the insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6, where an armed Donald Trump-supporting mob stormed the building in an attempt to overturn President Joe Biden’s election win.  The Democratic-controlled House, joined by 35 Republicans voted in favour to create the commission.
