Man jailed for 1982 murder after case became podcast-famous Chris Dawson, 74, has been jailed for 24 years for his wife’s murder, ending decades of speculation about Lynette Dawson’s 1982 disappearance. Dawson’s case became the subject of a popular crime podcast. A judge ruled the Australian man had killed his wife so he could continue his relationship with his teenage lover and babysitter. Mrs Dawson was just 33 when she vanished from her Sydney home, her body has never been found, and all the evidence in the trial was circumstantial. Florida woman sues Kraft mac and cheese over preparation time A Florida woman has sued the makers of Velveeta Shells and Cheese, claiming the food takes too long to make. The microwavable cup says its “ready in 3.5 minutes” but Amanda Ramirez says it takes longer. The $5m lawsuit claims the time advertised does not include how long it takes to prepare the meal – opening the lid and sauce pouch, before adding water and stirring. Deadly landslide sweeps section of motorway in Brazil A deadly Brazilian landslide on a motorway has killed two people and left dozens missing. A torrent of mud fell on the BR-376 highway in the state of Parana, hitting at least 16 vehicles, authorities say. IS announces leader’s death and names replacement Islamic State (IS) has announced the death of its leader, Abu al-Hassan al-Hashemi al-Qurayshi and named his replacement as Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurayshi – another apparent nom-de-guerre.
