UK weather temperatures soar by 15 degrees in a day Sunday was the UK’s last day of its cold snap, as temperatures have risen overnight and are expected to reach highs of 14C on Monday.  The end of the cold snap will be welcomed by many after the freeze led to travel disruptions and some power cuts. Thai navy ship sank in storm with 31 sailors missing 31 sailors are missing after a warship capsized and sank during a storm in the Gulf of Thailand. The Thai navy has confirmed the ship – the HTMS Sukhothai – was carrying over 100 crew members. The ship sank after water flooded its power controls on Sunday night. Rescue teams have managed to rescue 75 crew members, but 31 were still missing in the rough seas. Bus tickets capped at £2 by 130 companies amid cost of living Next month, more than 130 bus operators outside London will begin capping single adult fares at £2 as part of a government-funded scheme to help people save money. National Express and Stagecoach are amongst the operators who will introduce the cap in England. It will start from 1 January to 31 March. Four boys who died after falling through ice on Solihull lake are named The Guardian says The four children who died after falling through ice into a lake in Solihull have been named as brothers Finlay and Samuel Butler, their cousin Thomas Stewart, and Jack Johnson. The four boys were pulled from the freezing Babbs Mill lake in cardiac arrest on Sunday and taken to hospital, where eight-year-old Finlay, 11-year-old Thomas and 10-year-old Jack died a short time later.
