Italy cable car disaster: 14 dead in Italy cable car tragedy At least 14 people have died after a cable car in northern Italy plunged to the ground.  Among the reported dead, five are reported to be Israelis. Italian Tragedy – Nine people are reported to have been killed after a cable car collapsed near Lake Maggiore (or Varbano as it is known in Italian ) in northern Italy.

The cable car broke and according to initial reports, it had 11 people on board, according to Italian media reports.
