US probes Capitol attack The US House of Representatives has approved the creation of an independent commission. The commission will be similar to the one that investigated the 2001 al-Qaida terrorist attacks in the United States. The new commission will investigate the insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6, where an armed Donald Trump-supporting mob stormed the building in an attempt to overturn President Joe Biden’s election win. The Democratic-controlled House, joined by 35 Republicans voted in favour to create the commission.
