San Francisco: Man who crashed car into Chinese consulate shot dead A man has been shot and killed by police in San Francisco after he crashed his car into the Chinese consulate on Monday. A police statement confirmed that the man – so far unidentified – was shot after officers arrived at the scene. Hollywood writers agree to end 5-month strike after studio deal After nearly five months of strike action, the union representing Hollywood writers, The Writers Guild of America (WGA) announced that union leaders “voted unanimously to lift the restraining order and end the strike”. US child dies from fentanyl kept under nursery nap mat Nicholas Dominici, a one-year-old baby boy, died of a suspected drug overdose on Friday, with several other children from his NYC nursery taken to hospital. Police have confirmed a kilogram of fentanyl was found under a nap mat at a daycare centre in the Bronx, New York City. Three other children were taken to hospital after being exposed to the narcotic at the daycare centre. Police believe the children inhaled fentanyl at the nursery.
