Arsenal and Barcelona face off tonight in a box office pre-season friendly game in California.

Mikel Arteta’s men will be looking for an instant response to the 2-0 defeat suffered at the hands of Premier League rivals Manchester United in New Jersey on Saturday.

The meeting with the Spanish champions represents ideal preparation for the Community Shield game against Manchester City at Wembley next Sunday.

Barcelona, meanwhile, were forced to cancel their friendly with Juventus last week following an outbreak of a sickness bug which swept its way through the camp.

As such, tonight’s clash will be the first time they have taken to the pitch in pre-season.
