Arsenal v Man Utd: Stunning game sees Gunners go five points clear
Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Manchester United in last night’s Premier League match was a show off of their progress and maturity under Mikel Arteta and made it clear they are gunning for the title.
Arsenal’s win wasn’t a sweeping victory however, as the newly improved Manchester United put in a shift, and both teams provided fans with over 90 minutes of end-to-end, excellent football.
Arsenal’s victory was secured by Eddie Nketiah’s 90th-minute strike, putting them five points clear of Manchester City in the Premier League table – and with a game still in hand.
Arsenal fans are eyeing up a first title since ‘The Invincibles’ of 2003-04.
Man United are so far, the only team to have beaten Arsenal in the top-flight competition so far – and an early goal from Marcus Rashford looked like United may get another win.
Rashford fired Manchester United in front after 17-minutes with a stunning low strike, puncturing the mood around Emirates Stadium.
A Nketiah equaliser was followed by a stunning goal from Bukayo Saka, which was then equalised by United’s Lisandro Martinez. But Arsenal fought to the very end – another Nketiah goal came in the 90th minute.
Arsenal’s three points were well deserved, and Manchester United put on a performance so good that if it had ended in a draw, there wouldn’t have been many complaints – disappointed but not devastated. But showing why they’re the top team to beat this season, Arsenal battled it out until the end to secure the victory.
