Controversial influencer Andrew Tate has been charged with human trafficking and rape, Romanian police said today.
The Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism said the indictment, dated last Thursday, also included charges of forming an organised crime group.
His brother Tristan, 34, and two associates have also been charged.
All have denied any wrongdoing.
The indictment, filed with the Bucharest court, says the four defendants ‘organised a criminal group with a view to committing the crime of human trafficking on the territory of Romania, but also in other countries, such as the United States of America and Great Britain,’ the force said.
It names seven alleged victims, each accusing the Tate brothers of ‘misleading’ them about their love for and intention to marry them.
‘The loverboy method,’ the directorate says.
The controversial influencer was arrested in Romania in December.
