What happens when you put Andrea Corr and Ronnie Wood in a room together? They record Christmas music, of course.
The Corrs singer is set to release her first full Christmas album in December featuring a string of covers such as It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas and Let It Snow.
However, her cover of Blue Christmas with The Rolling Stones legend might just hold a special place in our hearts.
It certainly does for Andrea who has recalled having the time of her life recording not just one but two songs with Ronnie for the album – he also features on Curoo Curoo (Carol of the Birds).
Speaking to Metro.co.uk about her festive record, Andrea said: ‘I have lots of stories with Ronnie over the years.
‘The Corrs did support The Rolling Stones years ago, Ronnie and myself – we all hit it off – but particularly formed a friendship with Ronnie, and we stayed friends. I sang on a solo project he did, he then played with The Corrs on something else.

‘So when I wanted a partner for Blue Christmas, I thought there’s a romance in this song. Also the Elvis guitar in it and I thought of Ronnie.’
Because Andrea and Ronnie are so pally with each other, she was able to casually drop the music legend a text message asking if he’d be up for the collaboration.
However, she still had reservations about whether he would actually say yes.
‘So I texted him and asked if he would call me but in the totally Irish way, because when we ask for something we say “sorry, you don’t need to do it”, in the same way that I found myself doing it, like “it’s OK if you can’t, but would you think about it”,’ she revealed.
‘He went “yeah” [perfectly imitating Ronnie’s voice]. Then I went, “Would you think about singing it too?” because he’s a beautiful singer. Such a deep dark voice. So he did and he recorded it in LA while he was on tour with The Stones in a hotel bedroom.’
She added: ‘He does, he has complete enthusiasm, he’s such an open spirit and real creative spirit. He’s really enthusiastic and really funny at the same time. He’s great to be with.’
Andrea and Ronnie have also teamed up on the track Curoo Curoo (Carol of the Birds), which also features Donal Lunnay, Máirtín O’Connor & Zoë Conway.
Andrea Corr’s The Christmas Album is out on December 2.
