A man who van-jacked an Amazon delivery driver and left him hanging from the windscreen has been jailed.
Jarren Reid, of Lapworth Road, Coventry, will be thrown behind bars for 13 and a half years after admitting both theft and wounding.
On November 19 2018, Reid was tailing a driver for the e-commerce giant in his Mercedes A Class along Malborough Road and Dean Street in the Stoke area.
When the driver, Oleg Madan, pulled up in his transit van to make a delivery, Reud leapt out of his vehicle into Madan’s and tried to speed off, CoventryLive reported at the time.
But the driver clung on to the bonnet of his van in a desperate attempt to stop the van-jacking.
Reid continue to drive recklessly for several minutes as Madan clung on, even driving from side to side and slamming the breaks to shake him off.

While screaming for help, Madan was hurled off and suffered serious injuries when a lorry hit him, leaving him fighting for his life in a coma.
He has lasting issues with movement and balance and required complex surgery.
Police recovered Madan’s van burnt out in Shileton Land near Reid’s home address.
The defendant spent years ducking from police – simply replying ‘no comment’ when quizzed by officers – before he was eventually charged.
DC Keith Clarkson, from West Midlands Police, said: ‘This was a calculated theft which left the victim with lasting injuries requiring life-saving surgery.
‘This conviction comes as a result of some excellent work from officers investigating, as well as the testimonies of the witnesses who saw what happened.’
