Amanda Holden has revealed that ‘getting on it by 10am’ is as high up her Christmas morning checklist as the average Brit.
When the big day rolls around, the Britain’s Got Talent host gets up before her kids and scoffs her first sherry by mid-morning. Major props.
Early morning glasses of booze aside, Amanda said her other favourite thing about Christmas day is getting to rustle up a festive lunch with her beloved mum.
According to The Sun, the 51-year-old star said she still gets ‘massively excited’ by Christmas, saying: ‘I get up before my children. I absolutely love getting other people presents and so that makes Christmas for me.’
Amanda sweetly added: ‘But my favourite thing is cooking the lunch with my mum and drinking sherry at 10 in the morning.’
Her festive revelation comes after she was forced to defend her knock-out sense of style to naysayers, who often bash the fashionista for wearing ‘skimpy’ outfits. (Oh, by the way, the 1950s called – they want their prudes back.)

Speaking to the paper about some of the looks she wears while on the BGT judging panel, Amanda shared: ‘Fashion is about taking risks. I encourage everyone to have a little fun and be a little daring. I’d be bored playing it safe.’
Amanda also revealed that her daughters – Lexi, 16, and 10-year-old Hollie – love her outfits, adding: ‘Lexi and Hollie see me trying on frocks all the time at home and are the ones saying: “Go for it, Mum. We love that and you look great’’.’
But while the doting mum is known for turning heads in skimpy outfits herself (her dresses have even sparked Ofcom complaints from viewers) she draws the line at her teen daughter Lexi wearing revealing outfits.
Amanda even confessed she once told Lexi she wasn’t allowed to wear a particularly skimpy top to Reading Festival – but then pinched it for herself.
‘There’s this sequined . . . I wouldn’t even call it a bikini top. My daughter’s 16! I went, “No, you’re not wearing that to Reading Festival, but Mummy can have it,” so Mummy’s got it, and waiting for a moment to wear it.’
