Al-Hilal make £259m offer for Kylian Mbappe
Kylian Mbappe might be heading to the Saudi Pro League after a world record £259m bid for the PSG and France star.
Saudi side Al-Hilal have permission to speak to Kylian Mbappe after making the world record bid.
Mbappe, 24, has one year left on his contract with PSG having chosen not to sign an extension with the club. As a result, he was not selected for their pre-season tour to Japan.
PSG want to sell Mbappe now rather see him leave for free next summer.
Neymar’s £200m move from Barcelona to PSG in 2017 is the current record.
Interest for Mbappe has come from plenty of top European leagues and the Premier League. It’s understood Mbappe plans to leave PSG next year for free and is eyeing up a move to Real Madrid.
PSG want Mbappe to leave on loan this summer to see out the final year of his contract elsewhere. It would allow him to join Real Madrid for free in 12 months’ time, keep playing this season and generate a loan fee for PSG.
PSG have indicated Mbappe won’t be allowed to play for the team at all, so if he stays at PSG it could mean an entire season on the bench, impacting his chances of international selection for the 2024 EUROs
