The legal dogfight between the American Miniature Shepherd Club of America and the American Kennel Club has taken a contentious turn, reminiscent of the comedy “Best in Show.” The battle began after a heated 2022 election for board positions within MASCUSA, resulting in the suspension of President Gary Hoskins and Vice-President Carol Brinson.
Accusations of lying, sharing confidential information, and engaging in inappropriate behavior have been thrown around, with both sides claiming foul play. Hoskins alleges that he has been falsely accused of using inappropriate language and has been barred from selling AKC registered puppies, leading to a $1 million lawsuit against the AKC.
Brinson, on the other hand, claims that the complaints against her were an attempt to overturn the election results. Both parties deny any wrongdoing, with their lawyer stating that there is no evidence of the alleged misconduct.
The AKC has refuted the claims, stating that they have not prevented Hoskins from selling or registering his puppies and that they did conduct an investigation into the complaints. The situation remains tense as the legal battle continues to unfold, with both sides standing their ground and denying any wrongdoing.
