The AfD Bundestag member Petr Bystron has once again denied allegations of receiving money from the Russian propaganda platform “Voice of Europe” during a meeting of the AfD Federal Executive Board on Monday morning. This information was obtained from sources within the AfD leadership. The Federal Executive Board acknowledged Bystron’s statements and supported his demand for the release of alleged wiretap protocols from Czech intelligence services, which reportedly show that Bystron accepted money.
Bystron will continue to participate in the European election campaign for the AfD for the time being, holding the second position on his party’s list for the European elections. Bystron commented on the outcome of the Federal Executive Board meeting to F.A.Z., stating, “I expected nothing else. We will not let our election campaign be dictated by manipulative accusations from foreign intelligence services.” He also mentioned that no questions were left unanswered during the Federal Executive Board meeting.
Furthermore, Bystron stated that if evidence of accepting money and a promised return service is not provided very soon, it would be proven that a “political action by an intelligence service against the AfD” is underway. This interpretation was also suggested by Björn Höcke, the Thuringian state chairman of the AfD, days ago.
It was also reported that Bystron was asked to put his statement from the meeting into writing, but no deadline was set. Bystron later mentioned that he was not aware of such a request. A written statement from the Federal Executive Board is expected to be released on Monday afternoon.
