New Jersey siege ends after US gunman kills three in Pennsylvania
US police have captured a suspected gunman believed to be responsible for a series of deadly shootings in Pennsylvania.
Authorities say that the suspect allegedly shot three individuals dead in Levittown on Saturday before fleeing across state lines to a residence in nearby Trenton, New Jersey.
While residents were present in the house when the suspect entered, they were safely evacuated thereafter, according to police statements.
Andre Gordon, the 26-year-old suspect, surrendered peacefully and without harm to officers.
Known to the victims, Gordon barricaded himself inside a residence before voluntarily surrendering to law enforcement. Trenton police confirmed his departure from the premises and his subsequent sighting by nearby officers.
Philadelphia police indicated that although the suspect is believed to be homeless, he primarily resides in the Trenton area.
During an earlier news conference, Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn disclosed that individuals related to Mr. Gordon, including a child, were among the victims in Levittown, a part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
The alleged victims in Levittown were identified as his 52-year-old stepmother, Karen Gordon, and his 13-year-old sister, Kera Gordon, both reportedly shot and killed after the suspect broke into a residence.
