90s Britpop icon will stand as Labour candidate at next General Election
A clash against the Conservative Party should be a walk in the park for Britpop legend Dave Rowntree after years of competition between Blur and Oasis
It seems Blur’s drummer really does think ‘modern life is rubbish’ as he announced plans to run as a Labour candidate for his local seat Mid Sussex.
Dave, 59, hopes to snatch victory from the Tories who have historically held the area in a shakeup of the constituency.
‘I’m delighted to have the opportunity to become Labour’s first Mid Sussex MP,’ the 90s icon shared in a statement on the eve of the new budget.
