Emmerdale lines up a dramatic week in the eponymous village and you can sneak a peek of the drama with Metro’s picture gallery, featuring a whopping 31 pictures. 

The ITV soap has proven unmissable as of late, following the tragic death of Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling), who perished in a car crash on New Year’s Day.

Grieving dad Bob (Tony Audenshaw) has struggled to come to terms with his son’s demise and, with Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) believed to have been in the driver’s seat at the time of the incident, there is tension aplenty.

Cathy swears that it wasn’t her who crashed the car, blaming Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes), but Bob has refused to believe her. As a result, upcoming scenes see Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop), who is firmly on Team Cathy, give Bob a piece of her mind, berating him for avoiding their child as Heath’s funeral approaches.

Bob, however, is utterly consumed with grief and therefore he puts his foot down, refusing to attend the service.

Despite her dad’s stance on the matter, Cathy is determined to do right by her beloved twin brother and thus turns up at the funeral, but the sight of Heath’s coffin leaves her absolutely distraught.

Enter Bob.

The grieving B&B owner turns up in the nick of time and stands right by Cathy’s side, with the atmosphere between the two thawing – that is, until after the service when it becomes clear that Bob still doesn’t believe his daughter’s version of events.

Speaking of high emotions, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) struggle to confide in one another about how they’re really feeling following the events of Christmas, which saw evil Damon ‘Harry’ Harris (Robert Beck) meet a chilling end.

Charity can’t get any sleep and thus snaps at Moses, who is later involved in a fight at school over rumours of Charity being a ‘murderer’. Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is horrified to learn that Isaac started the rumours and she swiftly makes its her mission to apologise to Charity.

Charity, however, reacts to a loud banging noise nearby, pinning Moira to the wall. Moira reels, realising just how much Charity is struggling.

It’s an emotional week for many residents, including Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), who is knocked for six when Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), who kissed her previously, reveals that he felt a lump in her breast, which leaves her knocked for six. Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), meanwhile, tries to kiss Ethan Anderson (Emile John) and Paddy (Dominic Brunt) receives a shock.

Emmerdale airs these scenes between Monday, January 15 and Friday, January 19 at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
