Before Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) suffered horrific burns in an acid attack in Coronation Street, he was planning a new life in Ibiza with a woman called Crystal (Erin Austen).
Crystal was a promoter for the island’s clubs, and as an aspiring DJ Ryan was excited when she handed him her business card.
It seemed like Ryan’s dreams were about to come true, but then he was caught up in the traumatic attack when Daisy (Charlotte Jordan)’s stalker, Justin (Andrew Still), planned to disfigure her by throwing acid in her face. Ryan got in the way, and ended up getting most of the acid thrown into his face. He suffered facial burns that have left him scarred for life.
Following this, Crystal soon vanished. For a while Ryan thought he was maintaining a relationship with her by text and thought he was falling for her, only to discover that he’d really been texting with Daisy, who was posing as Crystal in a misguided attempt to make him feel better.

Recently Ryan and Daisy gave in to the strong feelings that they have for each other and slept together, but afterwards Daisy insisted it had been a mistake and she really loves fiancé Daniel (Rob Mallard).
In upcoming episodes Daisy is still feeling conflicted about the two men in her life, a situation made even worse by Daniel trying to push ahead with plans for them to move house.

Meanwhile, much to Ryan’s shock, he gets a call out of the blue from Crystal. She tells him that she’s seen his recent live stream in which he pledged that from now on he was going to be open about his scarred face and live his life authentically.

Crystal tells him that she owes him an apology for the way she vanished from his life following the attack, and she suggests they could go out for a drink together.
Carla (Alison King) urges him to be cautious, knowing that Crystal left him in the lurch once already. Carla reckons she’s nothing but trouble.

Peter (Chris Gascoyne), however, thinks that reconnecting with Crystal is a great idea, if only to take Ryan’s mind off interfering in Daniel and Daisy’s relationship.
