The Guardian – Israel declares ‘siege’ of Gaza as Hamas threatens captives
The Guardian continues its coverage of the violence that erupted in Israel. The paper says that Israel declared a “complete siege” of Gaza on Monday, cutting it off from water and power supplies as Hamas militants threatened to start “killing civilian hostages” if Israel bombed residential areas without warning.
The paper also reports that Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer will pledge a new era of devolution at his party’s conference this week.
