The Great British Bake Off finally solves 13-year-old mystery
The Metro says It has been a mystery that has puzzled – and enraged – Great British Bake Off viewers since the show started in 2010.
And for the first time ever on the Channel 4 show, the missing raspberry from the cake that appears in the title credits has been addressed and its whereabouts revealed.
During the first episode of GBBO’s new season on Tuesday (September 26) evening, new host Alison Hammond announced the technical challenge was inspired by the ‘gingham-clad mystery.’
The bakers were challenged to recreate the ‘most iconic’ Bake Off cake with Alison, 48, explaining it was the delicious dessert with the ‘famous missing raspberry.’
‘Whatever happened to that raspberry?’ she teased.
Her co-host Noel Fielding, 50, then whipped out a golden box and prised it open, only to unveil the missing berry, that has ‘annoyed’ viewers for several years.
