Russell Brand Attorney General warning slammed as ‘worrying and unnecessary’
The Metro says As more women come forward with accusations against Russell Brand, the Attorney General released a media warning which has been badly received.
Several women claim Brand – while at the height of his fame – sexually assaulted, raped, and controlled them, including one woman who was 16 at the time.
The 48-year-old has vehemently denied these accusations, taking to right-wing platform Rumble to dismiss the ‘war on free speech’ and ask followers for money.
In response to the media coverage of Brand, the Attorney General issued a warning to publications around Contempt of Court laws.
Prentis continued: ‘Publishing this material could amount to contempt of court.
‘Editors, publishers, and social media users should take legal advice to ensure they are in a position to fully comply with the obligations to which they are subject under the common law and Contempt of Court Act 1981.’
