The 2023 Ashes series is drawing to a close after six weeks of incredible cricketing drama.
In one of the most enthralling and closely-fought series in recent memory, Australia – with a little bit of help from the Manchester rain – have stood tall in the face of Bazball to retain the Ashes and they can convert their current 2-1 lead into a 3-1 win with victory in the fifth test at The Oval.
Such has been the endearing way England have gone about their business, cricket fans are already looking ahead to the next Ashes series which will take place Down Under.
But when exactly is the next Ashes series?

This will mean that, by the time the Ashes returns in two-and-a-half years time, England will not have lifted the urn for ten years since beating Australia 3-2 on home soil in 2015.
Where will the Test matches be held?
The full dates and venues for the Ashes 2025/26 have yet to be confirmed.
Traditionally, matches are held in Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
However, Hobart, in Tasmania, staged its first ever Ashes Test match in the 2021/22 series, with Bellerive Oval hosting the fifth Test in place of Perth.
As is traditional, the Melbourne Cricket Ground will almost certainly host the Boxing Day Test match in 2025.
What happened in the last Ashes series in Australia?
Australia recorded a dominant 4-0 victory over England in the last series to be played Down Under, in the winter of 2021/22.

The only game the home side didn’t win was the fourth Test in Sydney, with that game instead finishing as a draw.
Australia also won the 2017/18 series 4-0, whilst the Baggy Greens completed a 5-0 whitewash in 2013/14.
When did England last win an Ashes series in Australia?
England’s last Ashes series victory in Australia arrived in the 2010/11 series.
The 3-1 win is the most recent time a visiting team has won the Ashes and the first time England have won a series in Australia for 24 years.
England will arrive Down Under in 2025 having not won a Test match in Australia for 14 years.
