Sharon Osbourne has paid tribute to Sinéad O’Connor in an emotional post.
The Irish legend’s death aged 56 was confirmed by her family on Wednesday.
‘It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad.’
They added to RTE: ‘Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.’
Fans and celebrities have taken to social media to share their tributes, including Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar who wrote: ‘Her music was loved around the world and her talent was unmatched and beyond compare.’
Sharon, 70, has now shared her a touching message.
She TV star wrote: ‘Oh this is terrible news. The worst. That voice.
‘That insanely beautiful voice that could carry all the emotions in one line. Her bravery.

‘Sinead was so loved by so many of us but she was also not treated well at all.’
Sharon went on to say she felt ‘so angry’ at how O’Connor had been treated.
She wrote: ‘I remember wanting her to do a song for a show I was making and being told she wasn’t right for their brand or whatever the f**k.
‘I’m just feeling so angry about how she was treated.
‘But over all just heartbreakingly sad for her and her family.’

The Nothing Compares 2 U singer’s death comes a year after her son Shane took his own life at the age of 17.
She later took the decision to not perform for the rest of the year due to her continuing grief over his death.
O’Connor posted a photo of her late son in her last ever Twitter message, saying: ‘Been living as undead night creature since. He was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul.
‘We were one soul in two halves. He was the only person who ever loved me unconditionally. I am lost in the bardo without him.’
