A whole host of celebrities have got the Beano treatment as the comic celebrates its 85th anniversary.
And by Beano treatment, no, we don’t mean having to survive a day with the Bash Street Kids or evade a gnashing by Gnasher – we mean they’ve been turned into characters themselves.
The children’s favourite, which also happens to be the world’s longest-running comic, was first launched in 1938 and has since entertained generations of kids.
Now some of those old fans are going to appear in The Beano, with top stars including Stormzy, Harry Styles, Adele, Sir David Attenborough, Lewis Capaldi, Marcus Rashford, Jill Scott, Lewis Hamilton, Dua Lipa, the Prince and Princess of Wales – and even the King and Queen – transformed into characters.
The special guests in an upcoming edition of the Beano were chosen by 3,000 children aged seven to 14, who were asked which celebrities they would like to see as a cartoon.
Also set to make an appearance is duo Ant McPaartlin and Declan Donnelly, who the children vote as the celebrities they most wanted at their birthday party, and who they would most want to be best friends with.

Legendary Beano artist Nigel Parkinson has drawn the celebrities into existence in the comic, where a special issue will see the famous faces helping out with a disaster at Beanotown – stopping the mayor from carving his face into Mount Beano.
Mike Stirling, the proud head of ‘mischief’ at The Beano, said: ‘As Beano proudly celebrates its 85th anniversary, it continues to champion the power and joy of childhood by doing what it’s always done, showing kids being kids.
‘Here’s to the next 85 years, and we dedicate this birthday issue to every child out there, because being a kid never gets old,’ he said according to PA.
The anniversary issue also features an eight-page pull out, Beanow, created from children’s letters, comments and photographs – and over 2,000 issues will be donated to classrooms across the UK to ensure as many chidren as possibke can take part.
Since being launched in 1938, The Beano has gone on to sell over 4,100 issues, including over 70,000 comic strips and 700 characters, from Dennis the Menace to Roger the Dodger and Minnie the Minx.
