Martin Fowler (James Bye) and Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) have been getting closer and closer in recent EastEnders episodes, but there’s a complication. Stacey has been doing online cam work, something that doesn’t sit easily with Martin.
In upcoming episodes they’ve planned to meet at Walford’s most romantic spot – the allotments. But then Stacey realises she’s due to do a cam session for her private client and she has to cancel.
Martin says he’s fine with that and offers to look after the kids while Stacey goes upstairs to get ready for the session. But when he overhears Stacey flirting with her client, he can’t cope with the reality of what she’s doing and rushes out of the house.
He bumps into Jean (Gillian Wright), and they discuss Stacey’s cam work and both agree that they find it a difficult thing to cope with. For Stacey’s sake and knowing that she needs the money, Martin decides he has to get over his misgivings and support her.

Things are looking up when the family decide that Martin should move in temporarily while he has a housing issue and they’re enjoying a meal together. Then a chance remark about dessert makes Martin realise he’s been fooling himself. He’s not happy about Stacey’s cam work and he can’t cope with what she’s doing.

Stacey is angry at his lack of support and leaves, and Martin proceeds to get extremely drunk. Unable to handle how he’s feeling he deliberately picks a fight in the Vic, needing to unleash his anger somehow.

Later, after he’s calmed down, Stacey decides the best course of action is to tell him what happens during her cam work. She hopes that he’ll realise it means nothing to her and isn’t a threat to their relationship.
But the conversation is overheard by Theo (William Ellis), who viewers know is actually Stacey’s private client. As he hears her theorising that her private client is probably a ‘sad old man,’ how will Theo react?
