Good Morning Britain has become a staple of the ITV schedules since it began in 2014, with the likes of Susanna Reid, Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway easing us into the day with a mix of news, views and interviews.
However, those tuning into the show for their Friday fix today will notice that it’s absent from the schedules.
It’s all part of a shake-up which is affecting the ITV daytime schedule and will do for a few weeks yet.
But why isn’t the show on today – and when will it be back?
Why isn’t Good Morning Britain on today?
Good Morning Britain is not on today due to a schedule shuffle prompted by the Women’s World Cup.
With the tournament kicking off in Australia and New Zealand on July 20, the time difference means that matches are being aired here overnight and in the morning – affecting the daytime schedule on ITV.
It’s not the only show which is being affected – with GMB, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women all off air on Monday 24th due to the football.

This means schedules will be up in the air for the next few weeks – in some cases shows such as Lorraine will be extended while others will be shortened or not shown at all.
However, the BBC daytime schedules are unaffected for the next week, as they are showing some of the overnight games – including Colombia vs Korea Republic, which kicks off in the early hours of Tuesday morning at 3am UK time, and USA vs Netherlands at 1.45am on Thursday July 27.
The World Cup kicked off on Thursday with an opening match between Norway and co-hosts New Zealand which saw the host nation nab a 1-0 victory.
Many fans have travelled Down Under to catch the The Lionesses in action, with the much-loved England squad starting their contest campaign against Haiti on Saturday, before gearing up to take on Denmark on Friday July 28 and China on Tuesday August 1.
When is Good Morning Britain back?
Good Morning Britain will be back on Thursday morning at 6am – although it will be a shorter show than usual, ending at 8am ahead of live coverage of the Portugal vs Vietnam game.
The show will then air as normal from 6am on Friday July 28, along with the rest of the regular ITV morning schedule – as the England vs Denmark match is being shown on BBC One, with live coverage starting at 9am.

While the following week’s schedule has not yet been published, it’s likely that GMB and the other main daytime shows will be disrupted until the tournament is over.
The knockout stages of the cup competition are set to begin on August 5 – with the final taking place in Sydney on August 20.
